Mandate

The Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar is to offer three year Diploma level programme in Engineering and technology which are approved by AICTE in regular mode.

The candidates are selected according to the policy norms formed by the State Govt.  using curriculum and evaluation system developed by Gujarat Technological University. The curriculum is designed according to guideline provided by the AICTE.

The institute is administrated by Commissionerate of technical Education, Gujarat State and financially funded by the State Govt. so the institute has to follow the rules & regulation laid down by the Govt.

The institute has responsibility of contributing to the social, economical and technical development of the community by imparting technical education, training, consultancy and related services.

·         By offering quality engineering education for the various diploma courses so that their pass out will match the demand of the industries. These students will fulfill the need of society and industries by providing excellent quality technical manpower. There is a total quality improvement in turn lead to the techno-economical development.

·         It will link industries and technical institute by providing technical services like testing, consultancy and industrial visit and by providing continuing education to their employees.

·         It will transfer the technology in the rural area through its community wing.

·         It will provide opportunity for development of faculty members, students and professionals for getting higher education and training.

·         It will adopt new technology in the field of education through Internet, video conferencing, satellite communication, multimedia presentation etc. for mass education.

Vision

The Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar will be one of the pioneer institute which will impart excellent technical education and training hence it is first choice among the all students and its pass out students is also a first choice of industries. The institute will impart not only education but also transferring technology to rural community so as to improve quality of society and industries.

Infrastructure Facilities

Institute is having 13 acres of land. Total 3 buildings of institute are there namely,

1.      Main Building (Ground floor + 2)

2.      Workshop  (Ground floor + 1)

3.      L.R.U.C. & Library (Ground floor + 1)

Institute has well equipped laboratories for various courses and Workshop with all the necessary machineries. We also have department wise Computer labs with latest computers (around 250 Nos.), Printers, Internet etc.

We have a Library with adequate books for all courses with reading room. We are also going to provide computer facility  with internet at library very shortly.

We also have Hostel for Boys and Girls within the campus itself with the capacity of 132 boys and 48 girls respectively.

In the campus we have Principal Bungalow and Staff quarters.
